- What are porcelain veneers? Porcelain veneers
are ultra thin shells of porcelain that are bonded onto the
front of your teeth. Veneers fill gaps between teeth, repair
broken down teeth, replace old fillings on your front teeth,
correct short looking teeth, straighten crooked teeth, improve
a “gummy” smile and mask badly stained teeth. In other words,
they can change the size, shape and color of teeth.
- How is the procedure done? Your teeth are
conservatively shaped to a form that will enhance your smile.
An impression is then made so that the lab may fabricate your
veneers precisely. Following the impression, temporary veneers
are made on your teeth. At your next visit, the veneers are
tried in your mouth and checked for fit and color. The veneers
are then bonded onto your teeth making the veneers and teeth
quite strong.
- Results you can expect: Quality porcelain veneers
are strong, durable, and can last indefinitely with good home
care. Veneers have excellent cosmetic results and are a great
way to improve a smile that you are not happy with.
